Connect with WASH

Connect with WASH, developed by the Oak Centre with funding from USAID’s E-WASH programme and implemented by RTI International, is a public-facing Progressive Web App (PWA) that strategically embeds digital governance and civic engagement within Nigeria’s urban water sector reform. Conceived as more than a digital tool, it functions as an institutional interface that facilitates reciprocal accountability between citizens and State Water Boards (SWBs).

Through interactive storytelling, gamified learning, and real-time feedback loops, the platform demystifies service delivery and invites user participation in governance processes. Within the broader objectives of the E-WASH programme, which aims to make SWBs investment-ready by strengthening policy, legal, institutional and regulatory frameworks, Connect with WASH exemplifies how citizen-centred technology can drive systemic reform.

It offers a scalable and future-facing model for inclusive governance, reinforcing transparency, responsiveness and long-term sector sustainability in Nigeria’s water and sanitation landscape.
