A new e-governance platform, LegiTrack.AI, has been launched in Lagos to enhance direct communication between citizens and their legislators. The tool aims to deepen democratic accountability by providing a structured channel for citizens to share feedback, track legislative activities, and engage with lawmakers’ offices.
Unveiling the platform, Temple Ajijola, Project Coordinator at Oak Centre, described it as a turning point for civic participation. “With the launch of LegiTrack.AI, we are opening a new chapter in democratic engagement. Citizens can now connect with their legislators, share concerns, and receive structured responses from legislative offices. This is about strengthening trust and making governance more inclusive,” he said.
The launch attracted representatives from several civil society groups. Chinwe Okafor, Executive Director of Civic Alliance Network, praised the platform’s potential to strengthen legislative oversight. “For too long, ordinary citizens have been shut out of decision-making. LegiTrack.AI gives people a reliable tool to hold their representatives accountable in real time,” she said.
Also speaking at the event, Ibrahim Sule, Programme Lead at the Centre for Democratic Futures, highlighted the role of technology in restoring trust between citizens and institutions. “When communities can see that their voices are acknowledged, they are more likely to participate constructively in governance. This platform has the potential to reduce apathy and foster real dialogue,” he noted.
The platform combines artificial intelligence with a user-friendly design, enabling real-time feedback collection, updates on legislative work, and documentation of citizen engagement. Organisers say it will not only empower citizens but also support legislators by providing timely insights into the priorities of their constituencies.
Observers at the launch stressed that the initiative comes at a critical time when public trust in governance depends on openness, responsiveness, and citizen involvement.
“LegiTrack.AI is more than a feedback tool. It is a civic bridge that connects people to power and ensures no voice is left unheard,” Ajijola added.
