Mu San Gaskiya (“We Want the Truth”) is a weekly radio programme on Freedom Radio, Kano, dedicated to addressing misinformation and disinformation in everyday life. Airing every Saturday from 10:30 to 11:00 am, it blends expert insight with lived experience in a live phone-in format, allowing listeners to ask questions, share observations and challenge false claims as they emerge.
The programme explains how false information travels, outlines practical steps for verification and highlights the roles that journalists, fact-checkers and new technologies can play in response. By prioritising local languages and real stories, including those linked to trafficking and migration, it ensures the human impact is understood, not abstracted.
Over time, Mu San Gaskiya has become a trusted space where communities gain clarity, defend truth and adopt safer information habits.
